Having lived overseas for over 30 years, Mark knows the pain points of being US-connected abroad. He joined WestPac Wealth Partners to build solutions for this underserved market segment leveraging his time in Asia and the firm’s deep bench of specialists to create best of breed solutions that deliver personalized and comprehensive approaches to financial planning.
Mark’s “one stop shop” approach integrates asset coordination, wealth accumulation, tax strategies, and retirement income forecasting, albeit with a focus on the unique circumstances of US-connected individuals, families and businesses that are abroad.
Mark earned his B.A. degree from Carleton College in 1994 and subsequently moved to Japan to begin his career in international finance. After 10 years in Tokyo primarily working on trading desks, Mark relocated to Hong Kong for the next 15 years, working in various roles for large institutional asset management companies. These experiences fostered Mark’s ability to make complicated financial products and solutions easy to understand.
Mark’s “Protection First” philosophy means that before focusing on any risk-based investment options, we should first protect and secure what you already own and possess. Certainty, rather than hope, is a crucial element to prudent planning.
Mark splits his time between Portland, Oregon and Hong Kong. In his free time, Mark is an avid golfer and also travels frequently with his wife Bonita.
