No one ever taught me how to prioritize my finances. I was figuring it out as I went, and it kept me living paycheck to paycheck, not because I didn't care, but because no one ever showed me a better way.
That changed when I decided to learn, not just for myself, but so I could help others feel what it's like to be prepared. There's a real sense of relief that comes from understanding your finances and having someone in your corner who can answer your questions honestly.
Most of us end up with financial products because someone we trusted told us we needed them. We're sold the benefits so convincingly that we assume it must be good for us, but we never fully understand what we bought, why we bought it, or how it fits into the bigger picture. So we file it away and keep moving, left with questions like:
"How do I know I'm saving enough?"
"What happens if I get sick or injured?”
"Will my plans for my family succeed if I die?"
"What exactly is a 529, anyway?”
